We seldom hear what other people call us behind our backs, and that’s probably for the better. Sometimes it can lead to hilarious situations – this is one such story.
John was an able hunter, and had shot a stag just before Easter. He decided to surprise his wife and kids by cooking an Easter meal consisting of venison steak and potatoes.
The cooking went well, but he completely botched the dessert, so he decided that he would just give the children some Life Savers after the meal.
His wife and kids loved the venison. When they were done, he brought in a variety of Life Savers and said, “Kids, I’d like you to close your eyes and taste these, and tell me what flavor they are.”
The kids easily identified the taste of cherries, lemons and mint, but when he gave them honey-flavored lifesavers, both of the kids were stumped.
“I’ll give you a hint,” he said, “It’s something mommy calls me all the time.”
Instantly, his daughter coughed hers onto the floor and shouted, “Quick!
Spit ’em out!
