When you get a good offer, don’t rush it. Although your gut reaction may tell you to take it, sometimes you should think twice before acting – this is one such story.
83 year old Richard and 79 year old Dorothy met in the retirement home.
One Tuesday they were playing Backgammon in Dorothy’s room, when Richard turned to Dorothy and said, “Tell you what, for 20 dollars I’ll do you in the rocking chair over there.”
Dorothy looked at him with surprise, but said nothing.
Richard continued, “But, for 50 dollars I’ll do it with you in that comfy sofa, and if you’ve got a 100 you can come with me to my room for a romantic dinner, followed by a night you’ll never forget.”
Dorothy pondered this. After thinking about it for a while, she started to rummage through her purse, and eventually pulled out a crumpled 100-dollar bill.
“Here you go,” she said.
Richard took the money and smiled, “So, you want a romantic evening, all included, do you?”
Dorothy chuckled and waved her hand dismissively.
She said, “Pull yourself together, man! I’m having five rounds in the rocking chair!”
